**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Use effective interpersonal communication skills with students, faculty, management and external partners or community members, showing a sensitivity to intercultural communication
- Provide and promote a respectful and supportive environment based on the principles of inclusion, equity and diversity
- Work effectively in a team-based environment
- Create a positive teaching environment
- Use a variety of appropriate teaching/learning strategies
- Use academic technology effectively to enhance and support learning
- Evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes using a variety of techniques
- Develop, revise and adapt appropriate learning resources for students
- Engage students to create a positive teaching and learning environment
- Critically examine learning materials and classroom instructional practice for discriminatory bias or barriers
- Provide academic support to students as part of regularly scheduled office hours
- Maintain contacts with relevant industry and professional associations
- Remain current in technical knowledge and instructional delivery techniques
- Attends meetings, maintains records of student grades/assessments, and participates in meetings and activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities

**Qualifications/Experience**
- Honour’s Degree in Mathematics. Master’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics is an asset.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education would be an asset
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Mathematics of Finance
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the adult and/or post-secondary level as professor and/or teaching assistant
- Previous experience in course or learning materials development is preferred
- Demonstrated competent written, oral and strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
- Excellent presentation, communication and human relation skills to interact effectively with the College’s multi-cultural/racial/able student and staff population
- Ability to convey the conceptual and practical aspects of curriculum to students, while respecting their diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning styles
- Ability to work independently and with faculty to develop and deliver curriculum and contribute positively to the team environment.
- Experience with online, hybrid and blended learning delivery methods of learning an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative in the delivery of course materials.
- Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion to meet the needs of our diverse students, staff and college community.
