**Top-Lift Operator**

**Pitt Meadows, BC**

**Pay Rate: $24.00 to $27.00**
- Pay determined on skills and years of experience.

**Summary**:
Top-Lift Operator are responsible for loading and unloading inbound and outbound container loads/empties from railcars and chassis. Advise office of locations and conditions (if damaged) of units. Receive and input top lift computer data into railway operating system.

**Hostler Driver / Groundman Responsibilities**:

- Load and unload containers to or from chassis, ground or railcar and service drivers that require containers to be taken off or placed onto railcars
- Unload containers from railcars from work orders or as per instructions from Management on to the drivers or to be placed in the yard
- Responsible for completing a visual circle inspection prior to entering the top lift and then climbing a ladder to enter each time
- Utilize a computerized keyboard system in this position and a two-way radio
- Will operate a joystick when lifting and lowering containers
- Perform and document daily pre-trip inspections
- Submit or receive information to or from Management using the proper communication equipment
- Perform any other related duties as specified by Management contributing to the successful operation of the facility

**Qualifications**:

- 18 years of age or older
- Valid driver’s license
- Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Open availability to work: Day/Night and Weekend hours
- Must comply with established safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment
- Documented successful completion of lawful post-offer, pre-employment checks including criminal background check and drug screening.
