**KEY FUNCTION**:
Lead and monitor compliance and improvement initiative to achieve Accreditation standards in collaboration with the Management team and Nurse Clinicians. Lead and monitor improvement initiatives in preparation for Meditech Expanse.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Clinical Manager, Emergency and indirectly reporting to the CQI Manager.

**DUTIES**:

- Monitor, track and audit Required Organizational Practices (ROP).
- Assist with planning and implementation of Meditech Expanse.
- Work in collaboration with Managers, Nurse Clinician and staff on specific ojectives and goals to achive compliance with ROPs.
- Plan and schedule staff education sessions.
- Evaluate patient care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
- Oversee developmental strategies and follow government body and organizational policies to ensure data is private, confidential, and protected.
- Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
- Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place.
- Represent the department or program on various committees and in meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**:

- Minimum of a four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing (BScN), from an accredited university.
- Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an Emergency department.
- Training or recent experience with project management is preferred.
- Experience working with data management software is preferred.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Demonstrated excellent presentation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Demonstrated excellent judgment and proven analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students and support personnel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in general health care and community resources.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA)/Ontario Medical Association’s (OMA) Communicable Disease Surveillance Protocols.
- Demonstrated training, experience or utilization of lean methodology for process improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify issues, plan improvements, measure success and continue improvement.
- Demonstrated excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and patient information systems.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize as required.
- Demonstrated discretion and maturity when handling confidential information.
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients.

**PERSONAL SUITABILITY**:

- Successful criminal reference check is required for vulnerable sector.
- Ability to use tact and discretion in dealing with health care providers and patients.
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to perform with mínimal supervision; to prioritize duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours as required.
