Commercial Sales Manager

_**Job Summary**_
Plan and execute sales calls to new and existing customers on a master route schedule. Types of accounts vary based on the regions within the province and may at times consist of on premise (restaurants, hotels, and other similar venues) and retail (LCBO, The Beer Store, Grocery). This person will need to meet certain targets while maintaining the integrity of the Stockyards brand. We believe that building strong relationships with our customers lays a foundation of trust, loyalty, and authenticity. This position is full time; based on a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of customers and the brewery.
The role will consist of, but is not limited to;
- Achieve sales volume and revenue targets within assigned territory;
- Establish new business relationships with customers (On-Premises/Special Events/LCBO/Grocery) while maintaining existing accounts;
- Investigate and present industry co-pack opportunities:
- Present fact-based sales presentations to introduce new products and sell existing products:
- Advise/provide recommendations regarding Stockyards products, promotions, and sales opportunities and work with customer to develop account plans and priorities;
- Hold regular business reviews with customers to discuss product performance and adjust or revise programs or targets as required;
- Coordinate and execute Licensee Special Events from time to time and provide feedback with regard design, implementation, and effectiveness of events;
- Maintain up-to-date customer information and licensee sales tracking spreadsheets;
- Participate in team meetings and provide detailed local market intelligence as required;
- Remain apprised of industry trends and changes to the competitive environment;
- Use every opportunity to build relationships with drinkers and key influencers that result in brand loyalty and repeat purchase
- Deliver all beer to licensee accounts in liaison with the Commercial Events Manager in a professional and timely manner
- Effectively report to the Director of Commercial on market conditions including strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.
- Provide a level of customer service that is above average for the industry. Your accounts will enjoy buying beer from you.
- Educate and train key customers and staff about Stockyards Beverage Company, our various restaurant brands and our company culture.
- Coordinate and conduct tastings & events
- Work effectively and efficiently with other employees of the Company, maintaining high levels of integrity and authenticity at all times.
- Build quality relationships with customers that translate to commercial results.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- **Budget Management**_
- Control operating expenses and manage budget and expenses appropriately
- A commitment to achieving results and reporting successes
- Deliver and exceed the annual budget for assigned territory in terms of revenue and distribution.
- **Administration**_
- Work with Marketing Department and Director of Commerical to monitor and track marketing programs
- Attend and participate in Stockyards Beverage Company events, training, and meetings
- Strong Computer skills including MS Office
- Review and prepare reports / sales materials
- Record and submit sales and account activity in a timely fashion
- **Requirements**:_
- Minimum 2 years-experience in on-premises sales or equivalent experience in beer/wine/spirits industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of Ontario’s alcohol retail system for all beverages
- Impeccable communication skills including influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Organized with proven ability to multitask & manage time effectively
- Self-starter with a powerful desire to learn and develop as a sales professional
- Able to work well independently and in a team
- Available to travel and attend evening/ weekend events as necessary
- Legally able to sell alcohol beverages
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
- A proven track-record of territory management and sales growth
- A self-starter who can work independently.
