**Summary**
The Financial Services Manager is responsible for producing additional revenues for the dealerships by selling finance and insurance programs and other appropriate after-sale items to new and used vehicle customers.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with several finance sources, including the manufacturer and secures competitive interest rates and finance programs.
- Manages the alternative finance source program to ensure that several sources are available.
- Processes finance and lease deals accurately and fairly through financial sources to secure approval.
- Converts cash deals to finance as appropriate.
- Processes all federal, provincial, and corporate paperwork related to vehicle transactions.
- Understands and complies will all federal and provincial regulations that affect the new and used vehicle and finance departments.
- Reviews sales agreement with the customer to ensure vehicle, options and price are correct.
- Provides customers with thorough explanation of aftermarket products and extended warranties.
- Completes paperwork necessary for vehicle sales and leases in a timely and efficient manner.
- Checks all paperwork for correct title, lien information, taxes etc. before forwarding to accounting.
- Performs lien check on all trade-ins and confirms payout/lien amount with financial institution and confirms buyout terms.
- Provides customers with complete explanation of manufacturer and dealership service procedures and policies.
- Maintains insurance files.
- Sets-up and maintains a program which will ensure 100 percent turnover to the F&I department.
- Provides Sales Managers and salespersons with current information about finance and lease programs.
- Trains the sales staff on the benefits of financing, insurance and extended service programs.
- Works with the salespersons to secure the required profit margins from every sale.
- Coordinates finance forecasting with the Sales Department forecasting to achieve desired levels of penetration and income.
- Ensures collection of all finance and insurance fees.
- Prepares documents, reports etc. as required.
- Develops and maintains an efficient, current file and record management system both for electronic and paper correspondence and documents
- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
- Maintains customer and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment.
**Skills and Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree/diploma is preferred, but not required
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a comparable role is required
- Experience with automotive programs or finance is an asset
- Ability to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) based on retail hours of operation.
- Experience working in a deadline driven environment (i.e. able to meet tight timelines during month end closing)
- Able to review their own work
- Possess the ability to build strong relationships.
- Detail oriented, organized, efficient and able to manage a large amount of paperwork
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written English) skills
- Strong aptitude for numbers and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data
- Proficiency with CDK and/or Reynolds & Reynolds (or other DMS) is preferred but not required
- Intermediate level excel knowledge is required
