The Apprentice Technician has excellent communication skills and is able to listen and discern as well as execute all requirements in the lube service process. The technician can focus on the big-picture without missing any of the details and delivers results. They continually strive to become an expert in their field so that the service provided is above customer expectations.
An Apprentice Technician upholds the dealerships’ standards and values so that the customer is fully satisfied through every interaction with the service department. As a team player, the Apprentice Technician fosters positive relationships with personnel in all areas of the dealership.

The Apprentice Technician is responsible for diligently maintaining, repairing and servicing customer vehicles to ensure both customer safety and satisfaction while contributing to overall departmental success. A key priority for a technician is to instill brand loyalty and ensure a positive customer service experience.

**JOB SCOPE**
- perform standard vehicle repairs on their own, tasks such as changing brake pads and rotors, replacing vehicle fluids, and replacing car batteries.
- performs preventative maintenance, diagnoses problems and repairs vehicle systems in cars
- Work under the supervision of shop foreman and experienced technicians
- Organizes work by reviewing daily requirements; checking and gathering supplies.
- Completes vehicle service requirements by washing windows, lubricating, changing filters, tires, and belts, keeping coolant, window cleaner, and tire air up to level, etc.
- Perform road tests, record all pertinent information clearly and communicate effectively between departments
- Make recommendations for additional servicing based on initial vehicle inspection
- Actively assists technicians in performance of shops tasks
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading service publications
- Maintain a clean and orderly production area throughout the workday, ensuring a final clean up at the end of the day
- Accomplish other tasks as directed
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Keen attention to details
- A positive attitude with the ability to work both in a team setting & independently
- Be able to work Saturdays and evenings as needed
**SUPERVISION RECEIVED**
This position is supervised by the Shop Foreman or delegate for quality, accuracy, timeliness and general performance measures.
**MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT**
This position is responsible for the safe use of shop equipment to which they are trained, including but not limited to tire cage, tire lifters, hydraulic lube equipment, hoists and impact tools as well as standard computer equipment.
