Part Time Supported Child Development Educator
Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House Daycare

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 2:30pm. Includes half an hour unpaid break for a total of 5 paid hours per day.
Rate: Band C2 - $20.29 - $22.11 based on qualifications and experience plus $6/hour as per the MCFD Wage Enhancement for those who qualify.
Benefits: This is a term position and therefore will receive an additional 6% in lieu of vacation time.
Term period: From start date (as soon as possible) until to June 30th, 2024
Conditions: Subject to continued funding from BC Centre for Ability
- Supported Child Development Program.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid Early Childhood Education/ Special Needs Certificate or equivalent training, education and experience
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening requiredMinimum 2 years of experience in licensed childcare
- Minimum age 19 years (as per licensing regulations)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as a part of a team
- Understanding and commitment to the principles of inclusion
- Physical ability to keep up with energetic children (may require lifting)
- Solid knowledge and experience implementing safe and respectful strategies to support children who require 1:1 support regulating strong emotions
- Pasion for supporting and advocating for children and familiesPassion for collaborative, emergent and responsive curriculum
- Working knowledge of the BC Early Learning Framework and the Reggio Emilia ApproachCreativity, critical thinking and sense of humour
- Non-violent Intervention training/ experience is an asset
