**Job description**:
The Part Time Youth Case Worker will be facilitating after school program at different schools for the purpose of helping newcomer children/youth develop and strengthen academic, physical and social skills. They will be responsible for providing activities such as academics, arts&craft, life skills, recreational activities, workshops etc.

**This position will start on January 22, 2024 to March 31,2024 with the possibility of extension.**

**Job responsibilities**:

- Plan, supervise, implement, and evaluate children and youth-centered activities
- Delivering programming equipped towards immigrant and refugee youth.
- Knowledge of the settlement process and issues facing immigrants and refugees during their integration process
- Outreach and recruit new families
- Complete intakes and needs assessment
- Lead specialized activities in program areas such as wellness, arts & crafts, social skill building, educational activities, team building, games and/or creative challenges, life skills, technology related activities, etc.
- After school program development and planning
- Liaise with other youth-focused organizations to build partnership to deliver a modified approach to summer program
- Promote a safe and positive environment
- Network and liaison with the community are your strengths
- Provide information and workshops to children/youth and their parents
- Complete administrative duties as directed
- Ensure activities are kept supplied consistently and well organized
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each program participant (online and in-person)
- Conduct outreach and retention activities to ensure adequate program attendance and participation
- Model positive and proactive attitudes, behaviors, and language.
- Communicate regularly with the coordinator to ensure consistency.
- Ensure that all school space and equipment is left clean and orderly.
- Maintain appropriate, professional, and kid-friendly speech, behavior and attire all times
- Maintain accurate attendance records and reporting procedures
- Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation to track outcomes
- Meet deadlines with consistency.
- Support and supervise children and youth participants and volunteers
- Complete tasks related to daily routine.
- Maintaining up-to date required documentation and completing other required reporting.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with school administrations, support staff, and teachers.
- Provide support at annual community/special events.
- Additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or Executive Director
- Participate in AIWCC’s staff meetings and staff retreats.
- Represent AIWCC and those we serve at relevant community meetings and coalitions.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in human services (Social Work, Settlement work, Education, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with newcomers children/youth
- Demonstrated good communication skills (written and oral).
- Must be fluent in different language such as Tigrigna/Amharic/Urdu/Arabic/Somali/Tagalog
- Strong background in project/program facilitation and coordination
- Must be able to communicate openly in a professional manner with students, parents, community partners, and after-school and school day-staff.
- Must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
- Ability to manage time with youth effectively and be results oriented.
- Demonstrated an understanding of others and the ability to facilitate groups of youth.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Security Clearance Check, Child Welfare Record Check
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license, as well as a reliable vehicle.
- Experience with out-of-school time programming and managing safety and procedures strongly preferred.
- Must have capable of performing independently as well as part of a team environment and have excellent interpersonal skills.
