**Job Overview**
The Door Shop Assembler is responsible for assisting in machining, assembling and preparing doors and other products to complete customer orders and production requirements. The Door Assemblers work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork are essential. A trade union has been recently certified as the bargaining agent for specific North Pole Trim and Supplies employees, and this position falls within the bargaining unit.

**Responsibilities**
- Separate, cut, and machine doors to order specification, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Assemble selected hinge fittings, door knob holes, router latch plates to doors as per order specifications.
- Safely operate hand tools, miter saw, table saws, air guns, door processing saws, and other machines to meet production needs.
- Complete required paperwork.
- Stocks and retrieves warehouse products as needed.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and stacking materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas.
- Help with deliveries as needed.
- Report incidents, hazards, or equipment issues to supervisors.
- Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support supervisors, team members and other areas.

**Education**
- High school diploma or GED is required.

**Experience**
- 1 year of warehouse experience is required, preferably in the construction supplies industry.
- 1 year of experience assembling construction supplies (i.e., doors) is preferred.

**Skills**
- Able to read a tape measure and use other measuring devices
- Knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.
- Ability to use hand tools, saws, and mechanical equipment safely.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Keep up in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Ability to read blue prints and documents.
- Perform simple calculations for measurements and quantities.
- Read and understand work orders, packing lists, and safety instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety policies and guidelines.
- Work professionally with colleagues, supervisors, and management.
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written forms.

**Environment and Physical Working Conditions**:

- The Door Shop is a non-climatized area and may have extreme temperature fluctuations.
- Outdoor work involves varying weather conditions, including sun, rain, wind, snow, and extreme temperatures.
- Noise from machinery like forklifts, saws, and drills is common.
- The job is physically demanding, requiring prolonged standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, earplugs, gloves and reflective vests are required.
- Teamwork and collaboration are essential to meet goals and deadlines.

**Physical Demands**:

- Standing on feet full shift, often in one work station with some mobility away from work area.
- Repetitive and heavy lifting required
- Strength (lift, carry, push and pull): Maximum lift: 100lbs; Frequently lift/carry up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to climb (stairs & ladders), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, with manual dexterity and see acute depth perception and field of vision.
- Ability to rotate and bend neck, look down regularly through the shift.
- Trunk rotation with 20 lbs. at arm’s length 180 degrees from side to side.
- Bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis.
- Shoulder, arm, wrist and hand dexterity to use tools and lifting at all levels.
