SHINE Beyond Limits (Gibbons, AB) with Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Part Time Temporary (0.4 FTE) Home Facilitators for our SHINE Beyond Limits team. Reporting to the Coordinator of Specialized Services, the Home Facilitator functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide family centered services in home and community.
S.H.I.N.E Beyond Limits (Supporting Hope and Independence in Natural Environments) is:
A branch of Sturgeon Public Schools
A service provider for FSCD, providing supports and services to families of children in Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 with extraordinary needs
The SHINE office is located within Gibbons School
Specialized support provided to compliment learning and functioning in the home/community provides support for the family and the child both in home and in the communities

Direct or consultation, connecting and/or partnering with other resources, services and programs
S.H.I.N.E Beyond Limits empowers and builds capacity through family centered services that create hope and possibilities.
Family centered service delivery reinforces the importance of viewing the family and child as an entire unit and respecting the values, cultural background and unique needs of each family. Our services focus on the priorities and functioning of the family and related activities that are most meaningful to them.
This is non-educational programming and is geared to support skill development, participation and functioning in meaningful day-to-day activities and experiences that will assist in both their life and educational journey.
Position Responsibilities
**Include but are not limited to**:
Develop a trusting relationship with families
Work collaboratively and provide support to target goals identified as priorities by the family
Collaborate with Clinical consultants in a transdisciplinary model
Provide support, strategies and collaboratively problem solve with families as directed
Consultation with families in both home and community
Maintain records and documentation as required by the Coordinator of Specialized Services
Connect families with community resources
Participate in ongoing staff development
Manage a caseload of families as assigned by the Coordinator of Specialized Services
Conduct home visits based on family need and Clinician recommendation
Monitor progress and coordinate programs to make sure family’s needs are met
Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Specialized Services
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum two-year Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood; BA/BS in Psychology or equivalent
Minimum two years of professional experience
Strong and extensive experience with Autism and social emotional behaviour disorders
Have clear communication and must be proficient in written and oral skills
Possess strong advocacy skills and is a creative problem solver and team player
Hours of work will be 3:00-7:00pm, Monday to Thursday
Valid Alberta driver’s license and willingness to travel within Sturgeon County
The Sturgeon Public School Division offers a competitive salary range from $29.32 - $37.61 per hour based on experience and education as well as a comprehensive benefits package as per the General Employment Conditions.
