**A day in the life**:
Working in support of the Environment and Regulatory Team under the supervision of the Discipline Lead, you’ll:

- Complete biological surveys, including but not limited to surveys for grassland birds, boreal birds, sharp-tailed grouse leks, burrowing owl, short-eared owl, common nighthawk, amphibians (auditory and visual), snake hibernacula, bats, rare vascular plants, weeds, etc.
- Conduct pre-construction bird nesting surveys (i.e., passive nest sweeps) within construction areas
- Collect data and undertake data entry
- Conduct desktop environmental screenings
- Gain exposure to report preparation, including:

- documenting existing conditions,
- identifying ecological sensitivities, and
- discussing potential project impacts

**What you'll bring to WSP...**:

- Current enrolment in an accredited University Degree or Diploma Program in Biology or related relevant environmental discipline
- Strong commitment to safety
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Flexibility to work a variety of schedules (days/nights)
- Ability to go to the field (or specific site) for up to 10 days at a time
- Unrestricted Class 5 driver’s license valid for use in Saskatchewan and a good driving record (driving abstract required)
- Participate in drug screening for site access if needed
- Strong communication and report writing skills
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Basic Microsoft Office computer skills (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Field experience in the Canadian prairies
- Bird identification skills
- Rare plant and weed identification skills
- Experience in the consulting sector
- Experience using GPS handheld units to navigate and to capture data
