The Long Haul division headquartered in Ayr, Ontario specializes in the hauling and transportation of waste from transfer stations to landfills. GFL Long Haul is currently seeking a motivated and driven service advisor to join their growing team on a full time basis.
**The Service Advisor is responsible for providing service and administrative support for the daily operations of the maintenance shop. The Service Advisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and works collaboratively with the maintenance team.**:

**Responsibilities**:
- Providing reliable support and assistance to maintenance department.
- Creating, assigning and closing repair orders (RO’s) for preventative maintenance, running repairs, third party work, equipment damage and breakdowns.
- Managing DVIR process in an accurate and timely manner by collecting pertinent information on major and minor defects, communicating required repairs to maintenance staff and providing final confirmation of repairs to drivers.
- Responsible for managing driver repair and breakdown requests by monitoring phone lines and communicating with drivers, reviewing requests with appropriate personnel, scheduling repairs and filing relevant documentation.
- Coordinate equipment repairs at third party mechanic shops and dealerships.
- Supporting mechanics in all aspects of service providing.
- Accurately maintaining the maintenance department service schedule.
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; working closely with shop supervisors and lead hands, picking up parts, shuttling mechanics, and administrative tasks on an as needed basis.
- Taking direction from and working collaboratively with lead hands, dispatch and management to successfully complete tasks.
- Other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
**Requirements**:
- GED (High School) diploma. Post-secondary courses or diploma would be considered an asset.
- Valid license or reliable transportation to and from work.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with TMT and Peoplenet software will be viewed with priority.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring cooperation and instruction.
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
- Strong organizational skills.
