MRO BUYER
Reporting to the Sr. Corporate Purchasing Manager, the MRO Buyer is responsible for managing MRO material purchases/negotiations/RFP’s and vending machine program.
Repsonsibilities:
- Manage MRO strategic programs with suppliers
- Manage vending machine program ensuring vending machines deliver effective usage and cost control
- Monitors MRO purchases with distributors ensuring best value is achieved
- Actively participate and engage in continuous improvement strategies and cost reduction initiatives
- Generate purchase orders when required to replenish approved products ensuring maximum cost effectiveness and excellent customer fill rates
- Develop strong rapport with suppliers
- Keeps the Manager abreast of business results and progress
- Actively champions and promotes a proactive, innovative Purchasing function throughout the organization
- Actively participates as part of purchasing team on improvements of tools & processes
- Professionally represents the company
- Ensures the execution of corrective action under his/her responsibilities
- Support for all Purchasing Actions (Reporting and validation)
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- A qualified buyer with 2+ years’ experience in MRO buying and sourcing,
- Proven success in sourcing, purchasing and partnering with suppliers
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal, attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Superior organizational skills and planning skills
- Ability to work somewhat autonomously and with direction from Sr. Corporate Purchasing Manager
- Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
- Post-secondary education, ideally in Purchasing, Supply Chain or business
