**SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Corporate Tax Manager, the Canadian Tax Manager is responsible for Canadian corporate tax compliance and reporting within the Doman Building Materials Group Ltd. (“Doman”) group of companies in a timely manner. This position will also be involved with a variety of tax-related tasks and research, as well as assist with corporate financial reporting.

**EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS**
- Compliance and reporting relating to Canadian corporate tax
- Assist with corporate tax filings for Doman including preparing and filing approximately 32 corporate and partnership tax returns
- Ensure compliance and prompt payment of all required corporate taxes
- Work with Corporate Tax Manager and external tax advisors to facilitate corporate reorganizations
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax account reconciliations
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions by preparing, and consolidating provision schedules
- Assist with tax planning by researching corporate and statutory tax issues
- Maintain updated knowledge of current and proposed tax legislation, regulation, and development to identify emerging issues and inform decision making
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Assist with tax audits

**Requirements**:
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Minimum of at least 4 years of Canadian tax experience (financial reporting, compliance, audit, planning) or equivalent, with a major public accounting firm or large multi-national company
- Designated CPA with public accounting background
- Proficiency with TaxPrep or similar software
- Ability to manage time efficiently, and work well under tight reporting deadlines
- Ability to act and operate independently with mínimal daily direction
- Highly detail oriented and organized
- Strong verbal, written, and communications skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies

**EDUCATION**
- University degree in Accounting and/or Taxation
- CPA designation
