Carpenter Helper

JPD Staffing is currently seeking an experienced and reliable **Carpenter Helper** for our ongoing project at Cowichan Secondary School.

As a Carpenter Helper, you will assist the lead carpenter with various tasks including but not limited to:

- **Slab on grade forms**:

- **Parapets on roof**:

- **Blocking around windows**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the lead carpenter in preparing and setting up the work site
- Assist in measuring and cutting materials accurately
- Load and unload materials and tools
- Clean and maintain job site, tools, and equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations
- Any other tasks as assigned by the lead carpenter

**Requirements**:

- Prior experience as a Carpenter Helper or similar role
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the job site
- **Fall Protection Certification.**:

- **Sissor Lift certification.**

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
- Overtime
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Duncan, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- carpentry: 1 year (preferred)
