Cybersecurity Specialist

Empire Life is looking to hire a Cybersecurity Specialist. If you are passionate and have an academic and/or professional background in network security and cybersecurity, this might be the role for you As the Cyber Security Specialist you will minimize corporate risk against internal and external security threats reporting to the Director of Enterprise Security.

**What you’ll be working on**:
- Review and analyze events and related logs on all firewalls, virtual private networks, intrusion prevention systems, content switches, Windows and Unix platforms, and any other devices used at Empire Life to minimize risks against internal and external threats-
- Provide technical guidance to enable the implementation of security automation, automated security testing, and new technology adoption within the Enterprise Security team- Create reports on system and device activities; report on any identified security issues- Perform risk analysis on various systems; review and recommend processes to improve identity and access management- Assists the Infrastructure and Operations teams in patch management activities; qualifies new patches- Assist with policy implementations and environment evaluations including privacy, accounting and reporting legislation as they relate to information technology practices- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of security controls and documentation to minimize risks against internal and external threats- Develop tools, writing scripts, and automation of processes to assist with routine tasks; provide input into the enhancement, streamlining, and improvement of technology and processes to improve team effectiveness and efficiency- Remain current on new and emerging attacks, vulnerabilities and overall security trends; share learnings with team members

**What you’ll need to have**:
- Completion of a community college diploma, with courses in network technologies, operating systems, internet script programming, algorithms and related technologies- 1-3+ years work experience in an information technology security role- Knowledge of TCP/IP implementation and network security including VPN and wireless infrastructure- Knowledge of tools including Firewalls, IPS, SIEM, anti-malware, 802.1X, Data Loss Prevention, Regular Expressions, Multi-Factor Authentication, CASB, etc- Knowledge and experience with centralized directory services, including Active Directory- Work experience with operating systems (Unix, Windows Desktop and Server, Linux); database security and cloud-based IaaS and SaaS solutions-
- Knowledge of disaster recovery testing, security administration and hardware/software troubleshooting- Knowledge of technical writing processes- Knowledge of Service Management, Incident Management and ITIL practices- Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems, learn new technology, prioritize and balance multiple tasks or projects**It would be nice for you to have**:

- Certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, CCNA Sec, Security +, GSEC
