Job Position**:Crane Operator**

Job Status: Full Time Seasonal

Double Star Drilling has an **immediate **opening for a Full Time **Journeyman Crane **for our Shoring and Piling division. Previous field experience as an Alberta Crane Operator is critical to this role. This project will be assisting a Slope Repair project in Peace River and High Prairie.

The Shoring & Piling Crane Operator is responsible for assisting the project Superintendent in safely using the crane to place anchors in the ground as well as moving rebar cages. You will be reviewing the engineering lift plan to determine how to move rebar cages and place them in the appropriate areas as per project scope.

**Key Duties**
- Checking and inspecting the Crane and all parts such as Boom, Extensions, Counterweights, auxiliary hoists and ropes, as well as stabilizing outrigger equipment.
- approved circle check procedures before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
- Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other minor maintenance work
- Calculating crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
- Assisting in loading and unloading of equipment and materials using crane
- Assist with other duties as required

**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Qualifications**
- Minimum of 2 year of previous experience working as a Journeyman Crane Operator
- Thorough Knowledge of Load Charts and Counterweights
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (clean abstract) with own transportation
- Class 1 an asset
- Valid CSTS-2020 course from ACSA
- Excellent depth perception, hand-eye coordination and a fast reaction time
- First Aid considered an asset
- Basic OR Advanced Rigging Course an asset
- May be required to perform a drug and alcohol test for pre project access or post-incident
- Mechanically Inclined an asset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Ground Disturbance considered an asset
- Experience with using a spreader bar

**Working Conditions**

- Must be able to travel out of town and accommodate last minute scheduling
- Condo Living
- accommodations taken care of by employer
- 130T GROVE crane model will be used for this project
- LOA Provided

**Hours and Schedule**

Depending on production, schedule and timelines weekends may be required
