**Position Summary**:
The Educational Audiology Consultant will work as a member of the Specialized Learning Supports team to provide trans-disciplinary support to school personnel serving students with diverse learning needs who are in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Educational Audiology Consultants provide consultative services for students with hearing loss and their related amplification technologies, focusing on student success in their educational environment.

**Job Duties/Responsibilities**:

- providing audiology consultative services and supports to schools and families for children in Kindergarten classrooms through to Grade 12 with hearing loss, auditory processing/listening difficulties, or auditory sensitivities
- assessing functional hearing abilities of students, evaluating and recommending material resources and assistive technology to support student learning
- supporting the development of educationally relevant and meaningful IPP goals and, in collaboration with the learning team, determine the service delivery approach to support educational programming
- addressing issues related to classroom audio distribution systems such as purchasing, repair and general function and making recommendations regarding the use of this technology as a Universal Design for Learning
- counseling and educating students about their hearing loss and assisting in the development of self-advocacy skills
- preparing and conducting in-services on topics relating to hearing and listening, hearing loss, amplification, and effects of acoustics on learning

**Education/Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in Audiology
- registered with Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists
- minimum of three years related experience in pediatric audiology including experience with hearing aids, cochlear implants, personal FM/DM devices and classroom audio distribution
- excellent communication, collaboration and consultative skills

**Rate of Pay**:
$1,386.00 - $1,772.68 bi-weekly
