**Position Summary**:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of employees while respecting deadlines, policies and health and safety rules during the night shift with alternance with the day shift.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Develop methods to increase productivity while reducing the cost of operations and scrap
- Manage production priorities according to the established schedule
- Ensure quality standards
- Ensure Health and Safety requirements are followed as well as Company policies, regulations, and collective agreement
- Organize and follow up on training provided to new employees by qualified employees
- Ensure employees have the required training for their work assignment
- Work in collaboration with other Production Supervisors
- Monitor employees and coach for quality and performance
- Manage inventory levels, control waste and provide strategies for improvement
- In collaboration with the maintenance department, ensure equipment is safe and up and running
- Implementation of Vicwest culture

**Qualifications**:

- College Diploma in a related field and / or experience in supervision
- Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in supervising staff in a unionized environment, 2 of which are in manufacturing
- Proven ability to coach, lead, motivate and supervise staff
- Ability to analyse production issues and propose solutions
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills, with the proven ability to influence and persuade
- Experience with SAP is preferred
- Knowledge of lean tools and methods such as 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping and root-cause analysis would be a definite asset
- Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset
