**Job Purpose**

The job purpose of a Journeyman fitter is to use their specialized skills and knowledge to install, maintain, and repair structural systems in a safe and efficient manner, contributing to the success of construction, plumbing, and industrial projects. They play a critical role in ensuring that these systems operate effectively and reliably.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Adhere to the Academy HSE program's guidelines
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Academy's safety program, values, and corporate culture
- Interpret isometric drawings accurately for fabrication purposes
- Mentor and collaborate closely with Structural apprentices
- Arrange and mark pipes for precision cutting
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame cutting equipment
- Utilize hoisting and lifting equipment effectively
- Operate welding machines that have been pre-set
- Possibility of being tasked with operating a skid steer
- Be open to working flexible schedules as required
- Effectively communicate in a professional manner with individuals at all organizational levels
- Mentor and collaborate closely with Pipefitter Apprentices
- Attend daily toolbox meetings for project coordination
- Consistently and correctly follow established procedures
- Wear the appropriate personal protective gear at all times
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in the work area
- Report any personal injuries, regardless of severity, and seek necessary medical attention when required

**Qualifications**
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license
- Over 3 years of work experience in structural steel shop
- Proficiency in the English language is mandatory
- Capable of lifting at least 50lbs and physically fit for fabrication shop tasks
- Required to have a valid CSTS-09 (Construction Safety Training Systems) certification

Pay: $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
