**ABOUT THE UPPER GRAND DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD (UGDSB)**

The UGDSB employs a team of approximately 4,000 dedicated staff who serve more than 35,000 students attending a variety of programs across 65 elementary and 11 secondary schools as well as continuing education and adult learning centres in the counties of Dufferin, Wellington, and the City of Guelph. **THE OPPORTUNITY**

The UGDSB is seeking enthusiastic students to join us as **Custodial Summer Student** for the 2024 summer To qualify for a student employment opportunity, you must be a student returning to school full-time in September 2024. Proof of enrollment will be required.

**Location**:Various UGDSB locations in **Centre Wellington / North Wellington area**. (Locations closest to the students place of residence)

**Rate of Pay**: $18.50 per hour, plus applicable vacation pay, in accordance with the Employment Standards Act

**Length of Placement**: Two Options: (A) Monday, May 6, 2024 - Friday, August 30, 2024 OR (B) Tuesday, July 2, 2024 - Friday, August 30, 2024

**Board Information**: Facility Services; temporary, full-time; 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday

**Number of Openings**: 1

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in summer cleaning in schools
- Movement of furniture, such as desks, chairs, filing cabinets and bookcases
- Washing and cleaning of floors, furniture, washrooms, windows and walls
- Vacuuming of floors
- Trash removal, dusting and polishing
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Must be enrolled full-time in a secondary or a post-secondary institution for September 2024
- Previous cleaning experience
- Vacuum and floor scrubbing equipment operation experience
- Furniture moving experience
- Floor refinishing experience
- Excellent communication and organizational skills coupled with the ability to work well in a team-based environment
