seniors, children and individuals., VOHRC actively works to improve well-being and reduce

accessibility barriers that impact quality of live.

Vision of Hope Resource Centre is seeking an experienced Community Engagement Worker who are

willing to make a commitment to the goals and principles of the organization and implement these

principles within our programs and services. The incumbent will be responsible for community

programs, with a focus on meaningful community outreach and engagement of Seniors, Children,

Youth, and Adult. The Community Engagement Worker will report to the Program Director and will

work closely with staff to ensure delivery and growth of programs. Work is currently in-person and

some virtual.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, implement and facilitate culturally relevant programs and services for community

residents (seniors, youth, children, family and individual)
- Supervising and providing leadership and support to volunteers and students
- Establish and build partnerships and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders
- residents, community agencies, partners, and funders.
- Working effectively with colleagues to ensure that VOHRC is effectively represented with

various stakeholders’ clients, partners, funders etc
- Support the development and promotion of VOHRC programs and activities
- Make referrals to other relevant community resources, programs and services
- Write funder reports, program plans and create systems to monitor program outcomes
- Develop and strengthen alliances with other community partners for the delivery of programs

that respond to the needs of participants
- Lead community engagement activities and events as directed
- Other duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
(BSW or MSW) in Community Development, Social Work (post secondary qualification preferred), a

relevant field or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 2 years experience in similar role working with clients from varying populations

i.e., Black, racialized, marginalized and under-resourced communities) is essential.
- Understanding of Anti-Black Racism and the issues facing diverse Black communities
- Experience in working with Black, African and/or South Asian communities an asset
- Excellent group facilitation and training skills
- Experienced self -starter and independent worker
- Proven experience in report writing, data collection and documentation of program outcomes
- High level of integrity, confidentially, accountability.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to jump start and grow programs and services from the ground up
- Languages other than English an asset
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
- Clear Criminal reference check and valid CPR/First Aid
