Detailed Overview:
**Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families**:
Responsible for the coordination and operation of clinical equipment and information systems that support Clinical Operations for site based designated department/program.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides support and advice to users of information technology equipment within the designated departments of Fraser Health (ie Surgical Systems). Evaluates information technology equipment and service requirements and monitors level of support to ensure requirements are met and targets/objectives achieved.
- Examines and identifies problems/limitations with existing systems and recommends modifications or new systems. Liaises with other information systems coordinators/specialists within FH and with outside vendors to facilitate changes.
- Coordinates the use of all program equipment and computer-based information systems in operation throughout the designated dept/program in Fraser Health in order to ensure effective and efficient day-to-day workflow.
- Oversees and ensures the accurate collection of data related to department/program requirements required by internal management and/or external bodies. Generates statistical, clinical, financial and quality assurance reports using various software tools, as required.
- Coordinates business process assessment and re-engineering activities, including testing before systems implementation.
- Maintains an inventory of existing program equipment and data systems; develops project plans for future evolution of data toolsets within the designated dept/program.
- Develops and updates policies and procedures related to workflow and use of equipment and information systems throughout the dept (ie Surgical Services.).
- Coordinates and participates in initiatives and specification reviews that approve new technology and program equipment for use in designated dept/program in order to ensure compatibility with existing systems.
- Liaises with appropriate departments to ensure compliance with Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, as well as other legislative, departmental and organizational requirements (i.e. consents, record retention, privacy, and network/computer security).
- Determines training needs related to workflow and computerized systems within designated dept/program; recommends education program requirements to relevant personnel.
- Performs initial staff orientation and ongoing training in order to maintain and upgrade skills that are required to meet or exceed quality assurance indicators.
- Acts as a resource to external technology-related initiatives such as Patient Tracking or other initiatives.

Qualifications:
**Education and Experience**

Bachelor's Degree in Information Management or related discipline plus 3 years recent related information systems experience related to the designated dept/program area; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
