Chainsaw Operator

Firewood BC Forest Products Ltd is hiring a chainsaw owner/operator to process logs into rounds for firewood.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate and maintain own chainsaw equipment to cut various logs according to specifications
- Set up own chainsaw(s) by selecting appropriate blades, chains, oil, fuel mixture and adjusting settings
- Monitor the cutting process to ensure accuracy of cuts
- Inspect logs for metal, defects or imperfections before cutting
- Perform routine maintenance on own chainsaw equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

**Requirements**:

- Mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Experience operating a chainsaw in forestry industry
- Attention to detail for inspection of logs before cutting
- Forklift and/or excavator operation experience is a plus
- First Aid is a plus
- Provide own safety gear

**Job Type**: Seasonal

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
