Autism Consultant

**Job Description**:
The Entry to School (ETS) service will aim to support families with children ages 3 to 5 who are entering school for the first time. Children enrolled in ETS will receive six-months of group programming focusing on building skills prior to their entry to school followed by six-months of transition supports and individualized consultation. As an ETS service provider, Kinark will deliver ETS as part of the York Simcoe Autism Network (YSAN). **Primary location for these roles will be in Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Newmarket and Markham.**

**Salary for this position is starting at $38.69 per hour**

**Job Summary**:
The ASD Consultant will be responsible for providing individualized consultation, and group-based programming under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). In this position you will work with a multidisciplinary team to support students entering school for the first time. The successful incumbent will be assigned to work within York or Simcoe region. This role may include supporting Kinark’s Fee-for-service and / or Foundational Family Services.

**Duties & Responsibilities (not limited to)**:

- Provide expert Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) clinical and consultative support to school teams and families
- Development effective evidence-based practices for students with ASD in the educational environment
- Deliver school readiness curriculum in group-based settings
- Conduct individualized parent and mediator coaching
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team to meet program outcomes
- Develop resource materials and facilitate training opportunities for educators and caregivers
- Complete behavioural assessments
- Participate in treatment planning, program and report writing
- Support the delivery of OAP services

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification is considered an asset
- Minimum three years experience in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis and ASD
- Experience with school-based transitions and the delivery of consultation-based services will be considered a strong asset
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Screening) and Pre-Employment Medical
- Some evening / weekend work may be required

**Kinark Child and Family Services conditions of employment include but are not limited to successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed Pre-Employment Medical certificate, and proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. **Fully vaccinated is defined as having received all required doses of a World Health Organization Approved COVID-19 Vaccine at least one of which being approved for use in Canada and 14 days have passed since your last dose. Proof of vaccination for each vaccine dose received is required.
