We are seeking a **Buyer Planner** at **GF Piping Systems Canada** for our facilities in Coteau-du-Lac, Quebec.
**Summary**:
May perform one or more of the following functions as a buyer of a highly diversified group of components and finished parts. In addition, as a planner, the position is responsible for ensuring that inventories of items are maintained at predetermined levels, and that orders for non-stock items are processed in a timely and efficient manner. The Planner reviews stock status reports to verify the availability of items, including any unusual demand, and ensures that stock levels are appropriate to meet customer needs.
**Responsibilities**:
- Requisitions materials and finished product from outside vendors to meet customer needs;
- Edits requisitions and confers with departments regarding requirements, specifications, quantities, and quality of materials and delivery requirements;
- Carries out necessary expediting and follow-up activities to ensure delivery as required;
- Maintains an appropriate file of catalogues, and price lists pertaining to areas of responsibility;
- Assists with special projects to include studies and new processes related to Procurement planning, planning procedures, updates, stock levels and warehouse management;
- Assists in maintaining the accuracy of data base through the correction of errors and the addition of new information;
- Ensure compliance with the company Procurement Manual, Purchasing Policies and Procedures, Code of Ethics, Values and adherence to relevant laws and regulations;
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels including employees, customers, and suppliers.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience with an emphasis in inventory control and/or purchasing being preferred;
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- SAP proficiency is strongly recommended;
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Strong analytical skills;
- Strong communication skills, French/English required;
- Warehouse management knowledge an asset.
