Rebar Estimator

We are currently seeking a **Rebar Estimator** to join the team in our **Kanata **location. The Rebar Estimator will prepare estimates of quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh and accessories required for projects.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Review tender documents including specifications, drawings, and addendums
- Prepare estimates of the quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh and accessories required for bidding projects based on contract bids, drawings, and specifications
- Advise on tendering procedures, examine, and analyze tenders
- Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and project coordinator for accurate estimates
- Prepare quantity and complexity statements
- Keep management aware of bid schedules and upcoming work.

**Requirements**:

- Post secondary education
- Minimum of 3 years of overall construction industry experience
- Estimating experience is considered an asset
- Excellent math skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to visualize structural elements
- Proven ability to analyse estimating processes and make improvements
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings for all concrete structure categories
- Experience using ASA Rebar Estimating, Bluebeam or On-Screen Takeoff is an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines all the while being detail-oriented
- Sound computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with exceptional relationship building skills
