Job Description for Kafka Admin
Primary Skills: AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, Confluent Kafka Administration
- Complete regular Kafka service requests, including but not limited to Topics, Schema Registry & Kafka Service Accounts, API Keys and Secrets, Lenses.io, EKS Connect & KsqlDB cluster creation etc. from ServiceNow and JIRA requests.
- Regular maintenance (update latest version/patching) of Confluent platform components Kafka Connect, KSQL, REST Proxy,C3, etc.)
- Good knowledge in AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, Hashicorp Vault secrets management and GitLab is necessary.
- Good hands-on experience on Git and handling Merge Requests.
- ITSM knowledge and well aware of Major Incident & Change Management process.
- Knowledge in Splunk is mandatory and experience in creating alerts and dashboards in Datadog is added advantage.
- Review Kafka Usage report, Scorecard and perform the scheduled Governance Tasks including topic metadata tagging and purging of unused Kafka resources in Confluent Cloud.
- Manage and maintain platform (and components) Capacity and Sizing to meet the performance and load demand including support to partner teams for performance or load test.
- Provide support for enterprise-wide directives and adhere to policies including SLAs, prioritization, security guidelines, compliances, reporting, training, auditing etc.
- Create and maintain up-to-date documentation of known issues, workarounds, and standard operating procedures.
- Quarterly Skillset evaluation, Productivity Assessment and Ticket Closure Auditing.
- Regular maintenance (update latest version, patching, backups, purging) of Kafka AMI, Docker Images, EKS Cluster, Confluent platform (including Components Connect, Schema Registry, KSQL, REST Proxy,C3).
- Application Break fixes, Problem management, Coordination with other support teams or 3rd party vendor as required.
- Effective communication skills and ability to manage and lead the offshore team.
Pay: $38,133.09-$130,524.28 per year
