Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.

The Manager of Facility Operations and Maintenance is currently looking for a temporary casual vacancy in the position of Groundskeeper. We are looking to temporarily fill this role for up to 6 months. The purpose of this position is to perform grounds keeping/winter maintenance functions on approximately 110 acres, including regional roads, walkways and building entrances.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**_ Winter Maintenance:_**
- Operate hand shovels or snow blower, remove snow from all walkways and building entrances/exists.
- Erects snow fences where/when required.
- Almost all work is performed outdoors. Scheduling work activities is often determined by weather conditions.
- During inclement winter weather, incumbents are required to work varied hours and shifts as snow removal is a priority.
- performs outdoor grounds maintenance, clean up and outdoor related tasks as assigned
- Experience operating small engine equipment beneficial (commercial lawn tractor)
- Manager has the right to assign additional duties
- Performs all work at all times in compliance with all hospital policies and procedures and legislation (Occupational Health &Safety Act, Fire Code, WHMIS, etc.) relevant to health and safety, security (including relational/therapeutic security) and potential risk hazards, and in particular, “duties of the worker” as defined in Section 28 of the OH&S Act.

**REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Requires G classification driver’s license
- Previous experience operating equipment, preferred
- Must be able to lift 40 LBS
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
