Position Summary

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst within our Analytics Bureau, you will collect, analyze and interpret police data to provide real-time, data-driven solutions for business insights, and support data-driven decision-making within the organization through descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analytics.

**Responsibilities**:
What will your typical day look like? Applies various statistical methods and techniques and automates processes for data collection and analysis to aid data-driven decision-making, organizational strategies and initiatives. Designs, develops and troubleshoots all features and functionality of Business Intelligence solutions and platforms. Applies data mining methods and techniques to large organizational data to discover anomalies, patterns, trends and correlations to predict outcomes. Develops and designs data visualizations, dynamic dashboards, statistical data models, algorithms, data mining, queries, reports; handles data requests from FOI, public, internal departments and Chief's Management Group (CMG) to provide and interpret data, assess data quality and implement strategies for data governance. Operates database software to design, govern and maintain internal specialized analytical databases for internal organizational use. Liaises with stakeholders to standardize the delivery, validity and security of dashboards and with end users to ensure data visualizations are contextually valid and provide the correct insight; troubleshooting/questions on Analytics data deliverables, data collection and data analysis on initiatives/projects. Recommends improvements to streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, usability and value. Produces technical and business documentation, guided by statistical understanding, business context and data governance. Remains current on technology developments within fields relevant to current and future Business Intelligence and Reporting initiatives. Performs additional duties as assigned.

What we offer
The duration for this contract is one (1) year.
The salary range for this temporary, full-time position is $65,219.00 - $109,887.00. Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($90,107.00 - 109,887.00) based on experience and education. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance offered semi-annally; and the option to opt into OMERS Pension Plan effective upon date of hire. This position allows for the flexibility of hybrid remote working arrangements.
