Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Kamloops Mental Health & Substance Use in a relief part-time (0.50 FTE) capacity. This position is with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), Substance Use Response, and Connection Programs at Royal Inland Hospital.

We are seeking applicants with experience with completing mental health and substance use assessments providing crisis response, and referral to resources/supports in the community is necessary as well as at least two years of recent related experience with community nursing is required.

As the MHSU Nurse, you will ensure that persons with serious severe and persistent mental health problems and/or problematic substance use who may or may not be in crisis have access to timely, responsive, evidence-based treatment. You will provide assessment, treatment, case management, community support, and as required, urgent response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. Functioning as the primary clinician, you will utilize a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies

for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.

Shifts of work are days and evenings 08:30 to 16:30, 08:30 to 20:30, 12:47 to 00:00, 10:00 to 18:00, 08:30 to 18:30. This relief position is scheduled to end May 31, 2023, or return of the incumbent.

Qualfications
Graduation from an approved school of nursing

Two years' recent related MHSU experience in the assigned clinical area(s) (such as Adult Short Term Assessment and Treatment (ASTAT), Adult Community Support Services (ACSS), Urgent Response, Elderly Services, Alcohol & Drug, Developmental Disability Mental Health Services (DDMHS), etc.) or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM)

Current valid B.C. driver's license
