Harco Developments has been operating for almost 25 years and is one of Calgary's leading landscape construction contractors. Harco prides themselves on providing top service the market with construction services in the building and maintenance of entry features, boulevards, parks, storm ponds, sports fields, and other green spaces within new communities on behalf of our clients.
We are looking for an experienced Surveyor to assist in our commercial landscape projects by interpreting plans and drawings and provide specific layout markers using technologies such as GPS and AutoCAD
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Interpret project plans and site drawings
- Provide on-site layouts for all stages of projects including rough grade, final grade and surface installations
- Conduct regular field surveying to mark grades and indicate necessary cuts/fills
- Compare field information to project plans in order to track work progress
- Use topographical information to provide quantity calculations
- Clearly communicate results with project managers and on-site operators
- Prepare field notes and sketches where necessary
**Experience and Qualifications**:
- 3+ years experience working as a Surveyor in the landscape construction field
- Strong understanding of the Commercial Landscape Construction Industry in Calgary including a minimum of 5 years work experience in the field
- Use and maintenance knowledge of AutoCAD and other GPS survey instruments
- Knowledge of survey field data transfer software
- Experience reading and interpreting drawings including site layout, grading, planting plans and other surface installation plans
- Thorough understanding of the landscape construction process
- Understanding and respect for local environmental regulations and safety protocols
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including the ability to develop templates, track changes, create spreadsheets, and use formulas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months
**Salary**: $24.00-$27.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
