**New Boundaries Yard Maintenance Job Description**

New Boundaries Yard Maintenance job position is a position of support to all the social enterprises that are operated through New Boundaries.

**Responsibilities for the Yard Maintenance Associate is working in the sorting room include the following but not limited to**

Maintaining the yard keeping it clean and organized at all times.
- Summer yard maintenance is done
- Lawn mowing is done on a regular rotation
- Keeping all walk-ways clear of snow, debris and obstacles
- Picking up any garbage that is laying around the yard

Bringing donations in and putting them in the Sorting room bins.
- Ensuring that the sorting room is always full of donations to be sorted

Putting garbage in the dumpster
- Helping when extra tipping of the dumpster
- Going to the dump when necessary
- Ensure that the garbage is taken out at the end of day e

Setting up the E-waste
- Place E-Waste pallet out for drop offs
- Place E-Waste bag out for smaller E-Waste items
- Keeping the E-Waste organized in the yard
- Wrapping E-Waste pallet when it is full
- Ensuring E-Waste Pallet and E-Waste bag is put away at the end of the day
- Helping with large drop offs of E-Waste from the school board
- Helping out with E-Waste pick-ups from EPRA

Unlocking the Furniture Barn, C-Cans, Yellow Building
- Ensuring the Furniture Barn, C-Cans and Yellow Building are locked at the end of the day
- Ensuring the Furniture Barn and C-Cans are organized

Ensuring there is always water for the Water dispenser and picking up water from the store.

Helping out in the woodshop when needed
- Delivering pallets of wood to wholesale customers

Helping in the sorting room when the yard is not busy
- Help testing items in the sorting room

Helping Amigo’s customers with large items that are purchased to put in their vehicles

Helping with Home Services, service calls

Maintain a clean driving record
- Using the forklift carefully and responsibly
- Ensuring that all health and safety precautions are followed when working with and around the forklift
- Refueling vehicles and ensuring that the truck does not go below ¼ of a tank of gas when in use
- Vehicle checks and maintenance

Helping with Eastlink deliveries and pick-ups

Helping in Amigo’s if needed

Returning recyclables

All other duties as assigned

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
Have good communication skills

Have the ability to follow directions

Have the ability to lift 50 pounds

Have a clean driving abstract

Be willing to become a certified forklift operator

Be responsible and work in a team environment

Demonstrate flexible, efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload

**Work Environment; Day/Hour Requirements**:
New Boundaries operates some of its social enterprises 7 days a week. Therefore, New Boundaries Yard Maintenance staff member will be working flexible shifts from the following schedule:

- Sunday —12:00 pm—5 pm
- Monday — 8:30 am—4 pm
- Tuesday — 8:30 am—4 pm
- Wednesday — 8:30 am—4 pm
- Thursday — 8;30 am—4 pm
- Friday — 8;30 am—4 pm
- Saturday — 9:00 am—5 pm

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 28 - 35 per week

**Benefits**:

- On-site parking

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
