***Position Summary**

The Entertainment Manager is a member of the Stampede Programming Team, overseeing the unit responsible for and entertainment attractions, stages, and content that are free with admission at the Calgary Stampede. This role leads all Stampede-time entertainment, including the selection and recruitment of providers/performers for content at major attractions and stages, as well as roaming entertainment.

The Entertainment Manager leads the entertainment unit within the Stampede Programming Division, including direct and indirect supervision of staff within this unit, overseeing the guest experience for attractions and free with admission stage venues during the Calgary Stampede, and acting as one of the main points of contact for Stampede Entertainment, Inc. - the Stampede’s music talent buying and production services provider.

***Roles and Responsibilities**

Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

- Create overall plans for entertainment attractions which support strategic and financial objectives for the organization
- Work closely with the Director, Stampede Programming, to make strategic recommendations as it relates to entertainment experiences and to implement strategic plans
- Work closely with other colleagues in the Stampede Programming Division in the design of the overall guest experience at the Calgary Stampede 10-day event
- Work closely with Stampede Entertainment, Inc., for music stages experience and production management
- Manage all entertainment budgets for free with admission programming
- Develop and negotiate contracts with attractions and entertainment providers
- Work with colleagues in midway to determine optimal placement of entertainment properties
- Act as staff liaison with the Stampede Park Breakfast Events Committee, as well as leading major components of marquee breakfast events
- Act as a leader within the Stampede Programming Division, building relationships with other units and fostering a great culture within the department
- Provide entertainment programming expertise and support on Stampede internal events year around, advising run of show treatments, production plans, presentation materials, and show direction
- Collaborate with organizational departments to support the execution of entertainment projects
- Recommend innovations to existing entertainment attractions and champion new offerings to provide an exceptional guest experience
- Lead roaming entertainment strategy
