Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.

**The opportunity**

Known internally as Support Service Attendants, we have one (1) PT opportunity in our Midland Region (Outreach Attendant Services)
- **Flexible schedule**: Includes mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- **Hours**: This position is various hours per week.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and with March of Dimes Canada policies and procedures:

- Personal care
- Lifts and Transfers
- Rising/retiring
- Bowel and bladder procedures
- Meal preparation and feeding
- Range of motion exercises
- Other light housekeeping duties
- Perform duties in a professional manner, which respects the dignity and right to privacy and maintains consumer and staff health and safety.
- Provide support to seniors in their homes, shifts will require travel across multiple locations (KM's reimbursed)

**Qualifications and experience**
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, experience/knowledge/understanding of Independent Living or Consumer Based care
- Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, bowel and bladder routines and other attendant care duties
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire
- Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
- Use of reliable automobile required, parking not provided at all locations
- Looking for coverage on the weekends

**Important details**

March of Dimes Canada provides 24-hour attendant care to its clients. Support Services Attendants work a variety of shifts (i.e., weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that vary between locations.
