**Brief Job Description**:
The Maintenance Manager (MM) will ensure the overall maintenance and reliability of the plant and manufacturing processes. The primary objective of the role is the management and development of the maintenance team, the deployment of a CMMS to drive preventative and predictive maintenance programs, parts and supplies inventories, and work order completion. The KPI target will be on budget and compliant with regulatory standards.

**Responsibilities**:
**Management of staff, coaching, and training**
- Manage an effective maintenance workforce through the proper hiring and development of staff.
- Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance programs can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
- Delegate maintenance tasks to staff and ensure deadlines/targets are met.
- Conducts employee performance reviews
- Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
- Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.

**Communication and Collaboration with other departments**
- Regular communication with the QA Department to ensure effective participation by the maintenance department in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
- Regular meetings with QA Department on Key Issues
- Regular communication with the operations department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in the plant
- Regular meetings with the operations/production departments on Key Issues.
- Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.

**Plant Reliability & Maintenance Program**
- Develop and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for asset management, parts inventory, work orders, and maintenance history.
- Continuously monitors the operation of plant equipment and systems.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems
- Minimize unplanned downtime, proactively anticipate issues and develop solutions to remedy these potential problems. Also identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.

**Purchasing, Inventory Management, and Budgeting**
- Capital planning & spending forecasts.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for labour management, manage parts inventory, spending, work orders
- Tracks, analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
- Initiates and carries out projects that improves efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

**Regulatory Standards, Safety, and Compliance**
- Ensures occupational health/safety, environmental policies and procedures are followed by the staff.
- Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.
- Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department.
- Reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all maintenance technicians.
- Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the slaughter industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
- **Requirements**
- Engineering or Technology degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Great interpersonal skills and a great leader.
- Organized and ability to adhere to deadlines
- Excellent Microsoft office skills (In particular: Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication skills - written / spoken

**Salary**: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
