**About Our Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Risk & Corporate Operations, the Manager of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Business Continuity (BC) will be accountable for leading and facilitating the implementation of and promoting the ongoing effectiveness of the organization’s ERM practices and processes, as well as for providing direction and guidance on how to manage risk, and summarizing/escalating risks regularly and as required.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
The Manager’s primary responsibilities will be to leverage the introductory ERM framework to further develop and deploy the standards (policy/policies, guidelines and/or procedures) for ERM for the Department and system partners. The Manager will lead the implementation and deployment of the ERM Framework throughout the organization and will liaise with system partners to coordinate and structure risk-related communication between the relevant parties. The Manager will also liase with other governmental partners, when required.

As the ERM function is deployed, the Manager will also act as a strategic risk advisor for risk related matters, taking on an integrated enterprise-wide view of the opportunities, hazards and uncertainties associated with risk. The Manager will work with stakeholders across the organization to maintain, enhance and sustain proactive, ongoing, robust enterprise-wide risk management processes that enable intelligent, rewarded risk-taking and continue to protect the Department of Health, Office of Addictions and Mental Health (OAMH), and the Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment (OHPR). Working with the Director, Risk and Corporate Operations, the Manager will maintain an ERM and Business Continuity program that reflects sound industry practices, foster the needed consistency in adopting ERM practices, and provide insight to ways that ERM can be integrated into other business processes and decision making.

The ERM Manager will work independently under the general supervision of the Director, Risk & Corporate Operations, with latitude for initiative and independent judgement.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
Education and experience- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; MBA or designation/certificate (CPA) preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of ERM design, implementation and sustainability required.
- Relevant experience in the healthcare and public sectors, specifically in the design and implementation of ERM functions is an asset.

Other knowledge, skills, and competencies- Sound knowledge of, and experienced in implementing, ERM frameworks, policies, practices, and processes.
- Ability to drive concurrent, multi-thread execution across various ERM initiatives/projects.
- Ability to build strong, trusted, and effective working relationships with peers, colleagues, and senior management to ensure strategies and initiatives are implemented.
- Self-confidence in presentation, group discussion facilitation, negotiating issues and resolving problems in ambiguous situations.
- Ability to influence decision making with change management capabilities.
- Ability to suggest improvements to established functional risk management practices.
- Ability to collect and analyze complex data, evaluation information and systems, and draw logical conclusions.
- Proven ability in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting critical report deadlines or when challenged on conclusions draw.
- Skilled at working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strategic thinker with ability to articulate the big picture.
- Self-starter with ability to work with little guidance.
- Excellent cognitive thinking, written and oral communication skills with a high attention to detail.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, and Visio).
