**What you will do**
Reporting to the Operations Lead, the Children’s Programming Team Lead will be responsible for the day to day operations of our children’s programing offered at our Chaplin Family YMCA in Cambridge, ON.

You will lead a team in providing welcoming and inclusive environments where children and families have access to high quality recreational and skill-based programs that influence positive child and family outcomes.
- You will provide effective supervision, support, development and coaching opportunities for front line children program staff, which will increase the knowledge, skills and confidence of your team.
- You will manage administrative responsibilities, financial accountabilities, employee, student and volunteer records and program registration which will ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of children’s programs.
- You will develop strong relationships with children, families, staff members, volunteers, and community partners through meaningful connections and communication.
- You will foster a positive team environment by organizing and participating in ongoing professional learning, reflection and goal setting with your team.
- You will support all ages and stages of development by ensuring the delivery of high quality programs for children 0-12 years of age. Programs encourage children’s exploration, play and inquiry, and are based on YMCA Healthy Child Development principles and quality standards.

**What you will bring**
Ideally, you have completed a diploma or degree in Rec & Leisure/ECE/ Child and Youth Work or a related field.

You have a minimum of 2 years experience with facilitating and planning children’s programs/ camps and coaching sports teams and staff leadership experience.

You have strong knowledge and demonstrated expertise in child development and coaching principles.

You embody what it means to be a people leader at our YMCA through your actions and walk the talk when it comes to living out our organization’s values and Justice, Access, Inclusion, Diversity and Inclusion (JAIDE) work.

Relationship building, communication, coaching and mentoring, problem solving and strong planning and organizational skills are key competencies you rely on in your day-to-day work.
