Celanese Small Lots Manufacturing Operator -DPP Polymer Products Canada Company (wholly owned by Celanese) needs a Small Lots Manufacturing Operator at their Kingston, ON polymerization hub within Technology & Innovation (T&I) in the Celanese Engineered Polymers Division. The work at Celanese is by its very nature continually changing and the success of our businesses is dependent upon the capability and commitment of employees to be stewards of measurement technology and deliver high quality knowledge-based products.
In this role it is essential that all employees contribute effectively to the successful completion of assignments and projects - often taking them beyond their assigned functional responsibility. This demands a commitment to continually upgrading capability with the intent of improving contribution.
Because of the nature of the work, you must have a strong commitment to Safety, Health, and the Environment, good knowledge of mathematics and chemistry, sound mechanical aptitude, and be extremely flexible and adaptable with respect to work schedule and assignment. It is also expected that you are highly self-managed and operate effectively in a team environment.
Typical Work Assignment is Small lots manufacturing but can also include Pilot Plants of various sizes 0.250 kg - 500 kg, and extrusion processes.
Required qualification:- Minimum high school graduate [OSSD or equivalent with senior high school level science and math courses]; related operations work experience is an asset- A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability, and a solid foundation and aptitude in science and technology is an asset
Job Requirements:
- Safety, Health, and Environmental considerations are integral to all work.- Work schedules will vary depending on business needs; may be a day assignment or could involve routine and non-routine shift work including Nights, weekend and/or holidays- Adhere to standard practices, test methods, operating instructions, documentation, and record-keeping standards thus contributing to the development of sound knowledge-based products.- Tasks will involve physical handling of equipment, chemicals, and other materials; manual labor material handling support- Behavior aligned with Celanese Values- Use of Microsoft office suite programs (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) and other programs.
