Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst to join our team. As a Laboratory Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting various tests, analyzing data, and ensuring quality control within the laboratory. If you have a strong background in laboratory procedures, data collection and analysis we encourage you to apply.

Duties
- Perform asbestos, mould and fire tests according to standard operating procedures
- Collect and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and precision
- Prepare samples for testing and maintain proper documentation
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
- Assist in quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulations

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree or college degree in a related field (Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or similar)
- Knowledge of determination of visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos materials
- Performance of QA/QC practices as per company QA/QC manual, procedures and policies, including logging in samples, writing and reviewing and releasing results to the customer
- Proven experience working in a laboratory setting
- Participated in the Proficiency Tests Programs for Asbestos (NVLAP), BAPAT program from the American Industrial Hygienist Association (AIHA), and for PCM (CALA).
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures
- Training and validation related to asbestos identification by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM).
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment such as microscopes (phase contrast and polarized light), stereoscope, biosafety/particulate/fume hoods, muffle furnace, controlled-temperature equipment, balances, and filtering units.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 50 per week
