We are a diverse provincial regulatory body based in Surrey, BC and we have an immediate opportunity for an exceptional Finance Manager who will form an integral part of our management team.

The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of ASTTBC including oversight of day-to-day accounting; for contributing to organizational strategy discussions; for managing ASTTBC’s staff benefits program; and, for managing the ASTTBC Foundation. This is a full-time position working from Monday to Friday with the occasional change in work schedule to meet operational needs.

**Key Areas of Responsibility**

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Oversee and ensure integrity of financial records and reports, through appropriate policies, procedures, systems, and controls.
- Manage ASTTBC’s cash, including bank and investment accounts, under direction from the Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer; prepare regular cashflow projections.
- Manage the financial activities of government projects.
- Ensure bookkeeping processes are functioning properly.
- Liaise with Auditor.
- Manage annual budget process, working with Chief Executive Officer and department managers.
- Oversee preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports that include monitoring of income and expenditure against budget, and commentary on significant issues.
- Liaise with ASTTBC Foundation to assist with awards budgeting, reconciliation of donor income, and report on restricted funding.
- Manage preparation of the annual financial statements and the audit, and coordinate with the auditor regarding the preparation of any CRA filings.
- Oversee the collection and payment of sales tax as required.
- Participate in research and analysis to develop ASTTBC’s business model.
- Supervise the work and performance of the Finance Coordinator.
- Oversee staff payroll (implemented through an external payroll agency) and associated provincial and federal reporting requirements.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including group health insurance, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, workers’ compensation insurance, pension plan, and flexible spending accounts.
- Ensure appropriate general liability, property, and Directors and Officers insurance coverage.
- Oversee acquisition and maintenance of office equipment including the photocopier, mail machine, and telephones.
- Oversee office security, building and property maintenance, and fire safety; ensure the office facilities provide a safe working environment and maintain the security of the organization’s physical assets including office equipment, office security/alarm, building and property maintenance (janitorial, landscaping, snow removal, and other repairs), fire safety inspections.
- Interact with staff regarding invoicing.
- Assist with other administrative tasks, as needed.

**WHO YOU ARE**:

- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Commerce required. Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible related experience in all aspects of accounting.
- Chartered Accountant designation preferred.
- Experience in not-for-profit and government grant accounting a plus.
- Knowledge of provincial legislation on Employment Standards, Occupational Health and Safety, and Human Rights
