The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is one of two branches of government that provide oversight for the beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis industries in the province. The LDB is responsible for the wholesale distribution of liquor and cannabis and operates the retails brands BCLIQUOR and BC Cannabis Stores.

The LDB has been assigned to distribute, wholesale, and sell non-medicinal cannabis inclusive of a government owned online channel with a mandate to support government’s key priorities of protecting public health and safety, promoting social responsibility, and eliminating the illicit market. Since 2018, the BC Cannabis Stores chain has grown to 39 locations across the province, providing an educational, safe, and socially responsible outlet for the BC public to engage with non-medical cannabis products. We distribute cannabis to all licensed retail locations across BC and work with licensed producers across Canada to provide a wide product assortment that is centrally distributed. Cannabis operations within the BCLDB includes the Distribution, Merchandising, Retail Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing departments.

**About this role**:
Under the direction of the Manager, this position schedules and supervises a large workforce of up to 100 regular, full
- time and auxiliary employees in a 2 shift operation. The Operations Supervisor group is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations and making timely decisions to ensure the efficient management of all Distribution operational areas including: order picking, quality assurance, shipping and receiving, and inventory control of Cannabis product for all Wholesale customers.

This position provides front-line leadership with respect to occupational health & safety, employee labour relations, attendance management and customer service in a manner consistent with the goals and business objectives of the BC Liquor Distribution Branch.

A criminal record check is required.

This opportunity is for an afternoon shift (approx. 2:00pm-9:30pm) position at the Richmond Distribution Centre.

The position also requires the ability to work rotating shifts in a non-air-conditioned, noisy warehouse environment with conveyors, material handling, and packing equipment operating. Steel-toed boots are required, and frequent visual focus on computer screens and printed materials is necessary.

**Position requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Secondary (high) school diploma or equivalent certificate with one (1) year recent, related experience*.
- Recent, related experience must have occurred in the last 5 years and include the following:

- Experience utilizing a Warehouse Management System in a distribution environment with emphasis on functions such as shipping, receiving, assembly, and inventory control.
- Supervisory experience assigning, monitoring and examining work of assigned employees for accuracy and quality; evaluating work performance and maintaining schedules.
- Supervisory experience within a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Experience in a unionized environment.
- Experience in the cannabis industry.
- Experience working with e-commerce.
