We are currently seeking a **Geotechnical Technician** to join our Geotechnology team in **Vaughan, ON**

**Position Summary**:
As an **Entry-Level Geotechnical Technician **at GEMS, you will work closely with our established project managers, contributing to critical field work, data analysis, and reporting. Your responsibilities will ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and integrity.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Field Work and Monitoring**:

- Execute day-to-day activities as directed by GEMS Project Managers.
- Conduct field monitoring programs and surveys in urban, suburban, and rural settings.
- Carry out density testing of soil, aggregates, and asphalt using a portable gauge.
- Carry out field testing of concrete.
- Inspection of excavation subgrade, footings, caissons, piles, and reinforcing steel.
- Take diligent field notes and maintain accurate records according to GEMS standards.

**Data Analysis and Reporting**:

- Complete analysis, interpretation, and reporting tasks as directed.
- Ensure data quality and integrity in collaboration with GEMS Project Managers.

**Collaboration and Communication**:

- Work closely with customers, external stakeholders, technicians, and project managers to meet milestones and deliverables.
- Assist in preparing reports, proposals, presentations, and other documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contacts, and regulatory agencies.

**Health and Safety**:

- Follow Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Foster and participate in a strong Health & Safety culture.

**Professional Development**:

- Identify, pursue, and maintain relevant training and qualifications.

**Adaptability and Teamwork**:

- Provide field support, coaching, and development as required.
- Be open to other reasonable activities as needed by management/leadership.

**Education & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree or Ontario College Graduate Certificate (OCGC) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering/Technology, Geotechnical Engineering, Earth Sciences, or related field.
- Passion for finding solutions and exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
