**Description**

Barber Collins security is looking for a full time Security Guard to work between two warehouse locations; Cambridge and Guelph

**Having access to your own personal vehicle is a mandatory requirement for this position as the guard will be commuting between two locations.**

**Shifts**:

- *based off of a mandatory two week rotation_
- Please read these shifts carefully as these are not up for negotiation and the guard would have to work the shifts listed between the two sites. _

**Cambridge Location**:
**Week 1**: Sunday from 11 pm to 7 am and Thursday (going into week 2 Friday) from 7 pm to 7 am

**Week 2**:Tuesday from 7 pm to 7 am

**AND Guelph Location**:
**Week 1**: Monday and Tuesday from 11 pm to 7 am

**Week 2**: Friday from 7 pm to 7 am, Saturday, Wednesday and Thursday (going into week 1 Friday) from 11 pm to 7 am

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct regular foot patrols around the property as requested.
- Protect company’s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
- Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates.
- Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment.
- Access control for the facility/area.
- Ensuring that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies.
- Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents.

**Skills**:

- Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position.
- Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field.
- Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols.
- Surveillance skills and detail orientation.
- Integrity and professionalism.
- Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones.
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed
