**Position Summary**:
The Fabrication Supervisor will be responsible for managing daily production, as well as lead a team of welder-fitters and production staff. As the shop floor supervisor, you will be expected to provide daily activity reports and ensure a safe and positive work environment. The objective of this role is to lead our fabrication team, including all supervisory responsibilities of training, planning, assigning, and directing work in a busy weld shop.

Your experience leading a manufacturing, fabrication or production shop brings your knowledge of industry best practices, process improvement and team building. Working alongside your team, you will guide & support them as we grow and improve the company.

**Reports to**:

- The Fabrication Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee a team of welder-fitters and production employees.
- Assign work orders and tasks to team members based on individual skills and abilities.
- Maintain daily communication with the Production Manager and Lead Hands to ensure production schedules are being met.
- Ensure employee timecards and time sheets are properly managed and completed.
- Analyze fabrication drawings to determine dimension, tolerance, and finish requirements.
- Manage set up requirements and sequence of operations for all fabrications.
- Plan and map out project fabrication strategies.
- Ensure a high level of quality is maintained throughout the fabrication process.
- Ensure all machinery, equipment and buildings are shut down at the end of shift.
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the Employment Standards Act (ESA).
- Ensure all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is worn when required.
- Promptly report incidents, accidents, and safety concerns.
- All other duties and projects as assigned by management.

**Skills, Abilities, and other Qualifications**

**Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiables)**:

- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Metal Fabrication is required.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in a leadership role in a fabrication, production or manufacturing industry is required.

**Nice to have**:

- Completion of three-year apprenticeship program in Metal Fabrication or other Post Secondary Education in a related field is an asset.
- CWB Welding Supervisor Course completion is an asset.
- Bonus Points for experience with 5S or Six Sigma concepts
