We are a lovely intimate size with only 50 suites, permitting time for some creativity and special touches from our cooks and servers.

The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Prepare meals for residents and guests ensuring all dietary needs are met and the Canadian food guide is followed
- Ensures residents are satisfied with all aspects of food preparation and presentation
- Respond to resident and/or family member dietary related concerns in a timely manner assuring the concern is brought to the attention of the Culinary Manager
- Effectively communicate and interact with residents, family members, visitors and volunteers professionally
- Operate and clean food production equipment and food preparation areas

Cook Qualifications Include:

- minimum one year line cook or similar experience in the food service industry
- Strong knowledge and experience in Canadian cuisine, particularly homestyle meals
- ability to read and follow set recipes
- strong organizational and time management skills
- passion for food and the culinary industry
- current food handlers certification is an asset
- understand and have experience with the Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) program and food safety plan
- customer service oriented

Dining Position Summary will include but is not limited to:
- delivering seamless services to residents to create a pleasant dining experience
- Portion out and serve food and beverages within the dining room
- Wash dishes and utensils; operate dishwasher
- Stack clean dishes and utensils; also set, clear and clean dining tables
- Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning and sanitizing counter tops, sinks, machines, and equipment and spot washing walls and splash areas

8 shifts, biweekly

Vaccination not required.

**Job Type**: Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- cooking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
