Cafe Counter Clerk

Sweet Gallery, located in Etobicoke, has been serving the GTA since 1974 making the finest and freshest European cakes and pastries.

We serve both breakfast & lunch at our café, offering soups, salads, sandwiches, quiches, desserts, and more.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, hard working individual to join our team as a Counter Clerk/Food Prep. 35+ hours a week, Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30am start and shift is usually completed by 5:15/5:30. Sundays and Mondays off every week. Holiday schedules may require adjustment to staff schedules. You must be a self-starter who needs mínimal supervision.

We are located just 2 blocks from the Kipling GO Station.

**Counter Clerk/Food Preparer duties include**:

- Taking customer orders in person
- Working with waitress and prepare orders for eat-in (soups, salads, quiche, sandwiches, etc.)
- Checking and ordering inventory and inspecting goods for quality
- Answering phones from customers for cake/pastry orders
- Maintaining pastry counters and a clean, welcoming café environment; washing dishes, sweeping and mopping cafe at end of shift, clean bathrooms, etc.
- Following food safe guidelines

**Qualifications**:

- Food Handler’s certificate is required - can be obtained after hiring
- Previous food counter experience is an asset
- Language skills: able to serve customers in English
- Ability to multitask and work with mínimal supervision
- Well-developed communication, teamwork and organization skills

Pay: $17.50-$19.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
