If you answered yes, our **Whiteshell Laboratories (WL)** site located near **Pinawa, Manitoba** is looking a **Quartermaster/Armourer - onsite**. The incumbent will manage and maintain the materials, resources, weapons and equipment including vehicles utilized by the Tiered Response Force (TRF) team. The Quartermaster/Armourer will report directly to the WL Security Operations Manager. The Quartermaster/Armorer will actively maintain a working relationship with external agencies; Federal and Provincial Police, Chief Firearms Office (CFO), Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), Ministry of Transportation and Communications, plus the Ministry of Natural Resources. **What will you be doing?**
- Performing material management activities for all TRF material including databases on material locations for inventory stock, team and individual issued material.
- Maintaining sufficient inventory levels. Coordinating and effecting repairs to materials and equipment as required.
- Developing and maintaining maintenance schedules for materials including weapons and optical devices.
- Maintaining a maintenance schedule to meet all regulatory requirements for vehicles and equipment.
- Providing technical repairs to TRF weapons and ancillary equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of material repairs and maintenance and weapons inventory.
- Designing and templating a range to facilitate the safe use of facilities to accommodate the NRF weapons.
- Coordinating and documenting range use including round expenditure rates to meet environmental regulations.
- Assisting in procurement of supplies/equipment within budget guidelines and budget forecasting.
- Qualifying and maintaining designation as Controlled Goods Official, conducting Employee clearances and reporting to CGD.
- Maintaining/managing scheduling/procurement on E&PS emergency vehicle fleet, including specialty armoured vehicles.
- Maintaining department assets, including quarterly reporting in Asset Management Database (TAS).
- Maintaining operation and maintenance of Security Fitness Facility, and contract with external maintenance contractor.
- Performing miscellaneous clerical tasks related to security duties utilizing various pieces of office equipment to produce reports (photocopiers, shredders, calculators, FAX machines).
- Contracting administration with outside agencies for specialty training and facility rentals and maintenance contracts.
- Maintaining Company Business License and Firearms Permits.
- Acting as a liaison between Chief Firearms Office of Manitoba, RCMP, and other applicable agencies.
- Provide all required equipment to officers in order for them to perform their jobs effectively.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.

**What we are looking for**:

- Knowledge of security operations, including, functions, procedures, policies.
- Extensive knowledge in the preparation of lesson plans, demonstrations, lectures, training aids and manuals.
- Knowledge of nuclear industry standards for developing and implementing training programs.
- Familiarity with CNL Procedures and Operating Instructions relating to the document lifecycle and security control.
- Be qualified and maintain manufacturer qualifications as a weapons armourer.
- Knowledge of legal authorities extended to Security Officers.

**Experience**
- Practical experience as may be gained in a law enforcement, military, or security environment, in the safe handling and tactical employment of various types of lethal and non-lethal weapons, day and night surveillance systems, restraint systems, the firearm permit process, and regulations regarding weapons discharges.
- Familiar with security resources including CCTV cameras and monitors, thermal imaging and light intensification, night vision devices, ballistic shields, handcuffs, debilitating spray, tactical batons, and various types of firearms.
- Experience in the security function to be familiar with the routines and various governing policies, procedures, and regulations associated with patrols, access controls, surveillance and detection equipment, regulation of traffic on site, physical layout and geography and associated security requirements of the facility and the overall responsibilities of security activities.
- Familiarity with the applicable computerized information systems for the production of security reports.
- Requires experience to become familiar with nuclear safety/ corporate/divisional/ department policies and procedures, reporting structures, contracts and interrelationships between work groups.
- Knowledge of radiation and personal protection equipment. A period of two to three years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
