**Wastewater Operator**:
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Regional District of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Wastewater Operator at the French Creek Pollution Control Centre. The Operator contributes to the effective operation of Wastewater Services through the safe operation and routine preventative and planned maintenance of RDN Wastewater treatment and collection facilities according to permit specifications. This role will provide advancement opportunities and extensive safety and job specific training.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
A post-secondary diploma in Water & Wastewater Technology, supplemented with an Environmental Operators Certification in Wastewater Treatment, combined with one to four (1-4) years of acceptable operating experience at a Class II or higher facility, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

**POSITION DETAILS**
This is a permanent full-time (40 hours per week) Union Position. The (2024) rate of pay for the position is based on the EOCP certification level held; Level I: $33.79, Level II: $36.81, Level III: $41.54 per hour. Other benefits include a $0.75/hr. premium for holding current EOCP Wastewater Collection I-IV or Wastewater Treatment IV certification and an attractive benefits package as provided within the collective agreement between the Regional District of Nanaimo and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 401.
