**Current Rate of Pay**: Min $31.37- Max $ 31.79

**Current Shifts**: Primarily Days, 8 hours

**Position Summary**:
Orthopaedic Technicians perform casting services primarily in the Fracture Clinic and occasionally in other areas such as the inpatient units and the operating room. The Orthopaedic Technician organizes the workload and fulfills the responsibilities of the position with a high degree of autonomy, within established guidelines and procedures.

The Registered Ortho Tech provides high quality, safe, effective and evidence-based care in partnership with patient and families, in accordance with the Canadian Society Of Orthopaedic Technologists (C.S.O.T.) scope of practice standards and GGH’s mission, vision, values and policies.

**Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities**:

- Successful completion of the orthopedic technician diploma program
- Required to obtain Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technicians (CSOT) membership
- CSOT certification required within 2 years of hire
- BLS Certification
- Minimum 1 year related experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills, and high degree of initiative
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
